# Excerpt length

 * Hi,
 * I know there’s an option to change the excerpt length, but when I try to extend
   it to say 400 characters it doesn’t work. What is the limit on the length and
   can I make the limit longer?
 * Love the plugin otherwise though, thanks for the sharing your hardwork!

 * You just have to replace “get_the_excerpt()” with “get_the_content()” in line
   455 in includes/widget-recent-posts-extended.php
 * I created a pull request on github, so hopefully it will be fixed with the next

 * Thank you for the solution. I guess the core has a limit of 40 words when you
   pull excerpts.
