# Excerpt Length

 * Is there a way to adjust the length of the excerpt on the display list of the
   custom post type?
 * Ideally, I’d like to be able to adjust this independently of the other post displays.
 * I see it’s listed as “.cptui-entry-summary”
 * Couldn’t find anything that helpful in the php files of the plugin so I suspect
   that it’s inheriting the length from the theme.

 * Yep, the excerpt area would be the way to do it, there’s also filters available
   if you’re more code savvy to change the excerpt length, but that’s nothing specific
   to CPTUI.
 * For those stumbling onto this, it was partially related to [CPTUI-Extended](https://pluginize.com/plugins/custom-post-type-ui-extended/)
