    Hello,

I am having a problem with my Exclusions not working properly.
    I…
    1) input the links to be excluded, an save.
    2) click “Own settings for excluded links (extra tab)”
    3) then go to the Excluded Links tab and made sure that was marked as “follow”
    4) I’ve seen a similar thread so I cleared the WP cache in case that was an issue.

But no luck! I’ve been on this a couple of hours, but can’t find what I might be doing wrong… Help please! Thanks.

  • @monbon19 please provide screenshots of those two pages and describe exactly what you want to exclude/do.

    Hi Manuael,
    thanks for the quick reply.
I’m sorry, but I don’t see where to upload images here?
There are 9 links I’m trying to mark as do-follow – all on the same post URL.

I have listed all 9 external links in the box labeled “Exclude external links by URL:” and separated them by a comma. This box is listed under the Exclusions tab.

Happy to upload a photo if you let me know how. There is no attachment option on the Support page that I can see.

@monbon19 upload it to any cloud service (dropbox, pcloud, google drive, paste.pics). Choose one, upload it there, share the link here.

    Hello @manuelrocha88
Following up on this. Still stuck! Please let me know if anything int he photos look incorrect.
    Thanks!

@monbon19 sorry for the delay. These print screens are extremely small and no quality. I can’t see what is there.

@manuelrocha88 I have replaced the images in the link above. Please click and check again. Let me know what you see, if there is any reason these exclusions will now accept a “follow” tag

@monbon19 quick question, do all those domains actually start exactly like that?

Can You provide the page ur where this should be working but it’s not?

    (@monbon19)

Hello @manuelrocha88 – yes, here is a link to the webpage featuring 9 links that are all refusing the “follow” instructions. They are found here:

    https://thisrareearth.com/teaching-abroad-all-over-the-world/

    Thanks!

@monbon19 well, looking at the link you provide (a didn’t look deeper, stop at first issue), I see that the links are not the same.

Please take a look at this mark in the screenshot you sent to me. Look at the link marked with a red rectangle: https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZtBw0XZVwxdmGqgngjaF4wcGry1I7MjXP9V

And this is what I see at that webpage: https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZl2w0XZVfvKHFD7sI8W0gxbDbwKhjBOWxV7

See the difference? At the configuration, You have the URL with https and without www, and at the webpage, it’s with www and with HTTP only. That’s not the same thing.

Do this, go to the plugin settings page and remove the https and www from all domains. With that, it will work for all variants.

For example, where you have https://yourveganadventure.com/, leave it as yourveganadventure.com/ and it will apply the settings to all links that contain that word. Same thing for all others.

Even the one with https://www.thefearlessforeigner.com/life-in-russia/things-you-need-to-know-before-moving-to- you should leave thefearlessforeigner.com/life-in-russia/things-you-need-to-know-before-moving-to- if you want only this page to be marked as following or just set it to thefearlessforeigner.com/ and all links with this word will be marked with that configuration. Also, if you do this, thefearlessforeigner.com/life-in-russia/ only category life-in-russia links will be marked within the configurations you set.

IMPORTANT: the secret is to put words that are common and not the exact link, except if you want the settings to be applied to that exact link, but have in mind that link should look the same as on the website.

If you have a minute, and haven’t done so, please leave a review. It’s what keeps support going. Thank you 🙏https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-external-links/reviews/#new-post

I have an issue where the plugin is activated and internal links are excluded, yet an internal link is broken and unable to display a PDF file. I have gone through the support tickets and followed the recommendations.

Not sure where to go next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    David
