• We’ve been using GiveWP as our primary fundraising platform for over two years now. Our experience has been very positive and we’ve had very few issues with it. Getting it set up was super easy and it has been reliable in handling both one-time donations and recurring weekly/monthly/yearly donations.

The robust GiveWP donation form has worked flawlessly on all our sites. It’s not easy to make custom CSS edits to the donation form, but this has actually been a benefit for us because its solid build doesn’t interfere with other plugins or themes that we are running. We run a multi-site network with over 100 active plugins and we’ve been quite impressed that GiveWP and its various add-on plugins don’t have the same sort of plugin-clashing problems that we’ve had with plugins from other developers.

GiveWP’s security and bot-prevention works really well too. On our previous donation platform, we had several different bot attacks that would start running hundreds or thousands of attempted donations through our site. We’ve had zero issues with this since switching to GiveWP.

When we first started using it, we were not impressed at all with the donor login dashboard. However, a few months later, they rolled out a brand new donor dashboard that is quite nice.

Our other biggest problem we had was a strange 500 error that was getting triggered every time a donor tried to log-in to change their recurring donation or print a receipt. It was a local issue unique to one of our particular sites and GiveWP’s support team (thanks Stephanie!) was out of this world and kept our support ticket open for 3 weeks, helping us run tests and troubleshoot every business day until we got it figured out. Super impressed. We really appreciated that they went to all that trouble to figure out what the problem was even though it was specific to our site and not a problem with their current plugin build.

There have been a few feature requests that we’ve reached out to GiveWP support about and they’ve told us its not possible at this point. Mostly things to do with more robust reports/downloads, how fundraiser goal % bars calculate the progress on forms where recurring donations are involved, and making changes to the donor dashboard/account page. Hopefully they’ll keep releasing updates and new features in the coming months.

Overall, we recommend this plugin for any non-profit looking to raise funds through a WordPress website––especially if you have multiple causes/projects that you want to offer to your donors.
