Excellent plugin, but too much advertising across the admin area

    Functionally, this plugin is excellent: easy to set up, reliable, and it does exactly what a coming soon or maintenance mode plugin should do.

    Unfortunately, it floods the entire admin area with Themeisle self-promotion:

    • news box in the dashboard
    • messages in the media library for the Optimole image optimizer (and they’re hard to dismiss)
    • ads for Otter Blocks in the sidebar while editing

    There might be even more, but I didn’t stay long enough to find out. I decided to uninstall.

    Advertising inside the plugin’s own settings page is fine. But spreading it across my whole WordPress installation? That’s too much. Technically a great plugin, but this level of promotion feels like spam.

    Thanks for sharing your honest feedback and we really appreciate you highlighting both the good and the not-so-good parts.

    I’m glad the plugin worked well for you functionally, and I completely understand your point about the promotional messages. That’s fair feedback, and we’ll review how these are displayed to make sure they’re less intrusive. Hopefully, we can make improvements that encourage you to give it another shot in the future.
