• Update 4 Jan 2017: I don’t see this as needed. Emails being sent by bbPress as standard.
    Have deactivated it.

Sadly I have had to withdraw my 5 start review. I too am getting multiple PHP missing argument errors for various arguments. Plugin has not been updated since November 2014 and I cannot commend it unless support resumes.

    BP 4.2.2; BuddyPress 2.3.2.1; bbPress 2.5.7

I have been struggling to get email notifications for forum activity since I discovered it is not standard in bbPress.

BuddyPress Forum Notifier to my rescue. I have been testing it on a test site and it is looking good.

I did have some errors reported when I first tried it – I suspect because I had no groups set up, so I created a group and all was well, even after I had deleted the only group.

It took a while to understand how the emails are sent:

    • When a new topic is created, an email is sent to admin, BCC to subscribers.
    • When a new comment is made, an email is sent to each subscriber and if more than one comment within the time limit, they are combined. This combining does not happen for new topics.
    • I am puzzled this plugin reports as downloaded only a few hundred times and only one review. I have not found anything better and it is a pretty essential function.

      thanks
