Excel functionality as a plugin?

If you are familiar with Excel you know that you can have a named table that is referenced by a data validation cell. You select the table row from the pull down tab and that becomes the value of the cell. In an adjacent cell you can have a vlookup function that cross-references the data validation cell and returns a column from the named table. In this way you can have a user select conditions and Excel can report acting as a simple database.

Is there a Worpress plug-in that does a similar function in the WordPress environment? One that you can specify a table and provide selectable fields, etc, etc? If not a plug-in, then is there terminology associated with what I am speaking about here? “Database” and “SQL” seem a little broad for me.
