Hi @vanesac,
Could you send a faulty file to wordpress@doeken.org
? Perhaps I can take a look, to see if anything is broken on the site that would cause this.
The #1 reason for these situations is extra output by WordPress when rendering the Excel-file. Usually this means some error, or a (sometimes hidden) character, like a <space>
. These can be found in templates, or even at the top or bottom of your functions.php
.
Please make sure your functions.php
or theme’s .php
-files are not being closed by a ?>
tag. And that none of these files have a space before the <?php
tag.
Hope this helps, if not let me know; and please send over the file.
(Could you let me know via this topic when you sent a mail? It often ends up in my spam folder; and I never get it).
Hello Doeke,
I have just sent you the file.
I have taken a look at our functions file and regarding the <?php tag everything seems correct.
Thank you in advance!
Same issue on all my websites – was working fine before.
Hi @ringringhello, that’s unfortunate. When did it stop working? After an update from the plugin? Or was the theme changed in any way?
Could you provide us with the information from your Forms > System Status?
A quick test to see if it might be your theme is to temporary change it to a default theme like TwentyTwenty. If the download works then, it probably is some extra character that’s being output thought the theme.
If that doesn’t help, try disabling your plugins, and see if one of those might be responsible.
Hope this helps for now.
