    I have started to get into child WordPress themes, these are only for concept at the moment, I have just created a child Twenty Ten theme that adds BuddyPress.

    The logon uses a modified plugin so there was no need to hack the menus, and the buddypress.css was just taken from the default buddypress theme.

    I have a post about it here and the child theme and plugins are in a downloadable zip file.
