Support » Plugin: Subscribe To Comments Reloaded » Exactly where to put the code to move the subscription text above?

    Hi there
    I tried to move the subscription text above the comments box in the hope that it would become more obvious. I am not familiar with the coding but pasted in what you have supplied as suggested after following the instructions. When this did not work (the code appeared on the page instead) I tried to undo it and nearly panicked when the entire page was changed as I had removed too much code in undoing the change! Fortunately I had a backup file to copy the code from which fixed it.
    But I am still not sure exactly where in the file to place this text to have it appear above the comment box?
    Cheers
    Ellie

    Hi @elliekennard

    Was it CSS code? CSS code goes in WP admin > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS.

    I followed these instructions from FAQ: (so no, not css, but maybe this is not the right place?)
    Just disable the corresponding option under Settings > Comment Form and then add the following code where you want to display the checkbox:
    stcr->subscribe_reloaded_show(); } ?>

    I tried to put this into the comments.php form around here:
    (I put it after the you can start editing here section.)
    <div id=”comments” class=”comments-area”>

    <?php // You can start editing here — including this comment! ?>

    <?php if ( have_comments() ) : ?>

    Hi @elliekennard

    Be careful with editing PHP files, a minor mistake in PHP code can cause the whole site to not show up.

    Try this CSS code instead (goes in WP admin > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS):

    #commentform {
        display: flex;
        flex-direction: column;
    }
    #commentform > * {
        order: 2;
    }
    #commentform > .comment-form-subscriptions {
        order: 1;
    }

    That has worked from what I can see… Thank you!
