Support » Plugin: Force Regenerate Thumbnails » EWWW Image optimiser – speed tip

  • I found out that disabling the EWWW image optimiser plugin speeds up the Force regeneration by a factor of 10.

I assume EWWW is optimising the generated sizes, but its not flagging them as having been optimised, so they still need to go through the optimisation process anyway.

If dealing with a lot of images. Disable EWWW, run force regenerate, then re-enable EWWW, that will save a lot of time.

  • BRILLIANT! Thank you for sharing this!

I disabled it while the plugin was running, as it has been almost 24 hours and my site was not even 40% done!

Also, it ate up all of our EEEW credits!
