they
No plural here. Just lil’ old me. I am FFW.Press and FFW.Press is me.
Unfortunately, they really packed everything into the Pro version here. The free version is basically just an advertising banner here on wordpress.org. π
Does not work with Themify and other page builders that offer a caching system. Since there are NO options to fix anything anymore, the plugin flies down.
I’m sure there’s some misunderstanding here, since no features were ever moved from the free version to the pro version. The features of the free version are listed clearly on the plugin’s main page. For reference:
After installing the plugin, OMGF will automatically start looking for Google Fonts whenever a page is requested on your website.
All Google Fonts are listed in the Manage Optimized Fonts section of OMGFβs settings screen. There, you can choose to:
– Preload fonts to reduce Cumulative Layout Shift above the fold,
– Unload fonts thatβre not used by you, your theme and/or plugins
[…]
Other Features include
– Remove Resource Hints (preload, preconnect, dns-prefetch) pointing to fonts.googleapis.com or fonts.gstatic.com,
– Ensure text remains visible during webfont load by forcing the font-display attribute to your Google Fonts.
So, “basically an advertising banner”? I don’t agree! But I’ll look into the Themify issue. I never tested OMGF (or OMGF Pro) with Themify, because I didn’t even know that plugin existed. So, there’s that.
You could’ve sent me a support ticket to notify me of the issues you were having, because (as other reviews will tell you) I generally deliver great support!
WordPress.org is thanks to you guys, a worse place than it was back then. Why donβt you use Codecanyon or something else and leave the plugin off here. Outrageous.
I don’t know when “back then” was, but this is just insulting. I suggest you grow up and show some respect to people that take the time to provide you with FREE plugins.
No one is forcing you to buy the Pro version and my plugins are definitely not built that way. The fact that you generalize it to being “basically an advertising banner” shows that there’s obviously something you’re not understanding. The fact that you don’t realize that is a different story. A bit stubborn, are we?
Your posts on your site I have read, I also evaluate the functionality of the free plugin here. What you do in the Pro version is not evaluated here. The Free plugin is not as good as it was then and thatβs why there is a bad rating.
Well, thank you for taking the time to read my blogposts and evaluate my plugin. I can’t agree you with you that OMGF is worse now than it was “back then”, because I actually added tons of features since it was first released and OMGF 5 actually introduced features that were previously only available in the Pro version. So, yeah…
You obviously did a thorough job!
