    Hello,

I am experiencing wrong redirections issues.

I have set recorreba.com/registrarse as the url where to land in case of miswording in the nav bar. It used to correctly derive visitors to https://recorreba.com/registrarse in case they typed something like “recorreba.com/xxx”.

Because I was experiencing bad redirections in the whole website, I deactivated this plugin and re-activated it.

AFter activating it again, what I now see is that upon errors when typing the  wrong address, (for example recorreba.com/XXX)  you will be correctly redirected to /registrarse   You will continue to see /registrarse content BUT the nav bar will now display recorreba.com/XXX instead. It is no longer displaying “/registrarse” as it is expected to do.

    BAD REDIRECTIONS ISSUE:

I will transcribe below this issue as I also posted it in other plugins that I am using and I am investigating which plugin is causing this issue.

If you go to recorreba.com/mi-cuenta/ you will land in a page with restricted content (Argentina del Progreso – Introductorio)
Content of this page belongs to recorreba.com/argentina-del-progreso. This page is related to Woocommerce as it is the URL (and download link) of the restricted content for product recorreba.com/producto/argentina-del-progreso/ . However, If you paste this address recorreba.com/argentina-del-progreso/ in the nav bar you will experience redirection to https://recorreba.com/arquitectura-en-argentina/?redirect_to=%2Fargentina-del-progresosss%2F and this redirection issue is now present in every URL containing the restricted content I am selling through Woocommerce. At this moment all pages related to protected content sold through Woocommerce would redirect, Examples:
    recorreba.com/brutalismo
    recorreba.com/planes-urbanos
    https://recorreba.com/tipologias-de-viviendas/, etc.

All of the products show the same issue. None of the redirections however take you to the corresponding page. They all land in the website STORE https://recorreba.com/arquitectura-en-argentina/ followed by the redirection slug example: ?redirect_to=%2Ftipologias-de-viviendas%2F

If you try to make a purchase from recorreba.com/producto/argentina-del-progreso/ you will see that “Comprar” button again shows this problem, you should be derived to https://recorreba.com/carro/ but you will probably see argentina-progreso content so checkout process is broken.`

    Please help

    Thank you very much

    Liliana

If you don’t want the URL bar to update after the user is redirected to a custom landing page then you can deactivate that option in the settings. It’s near the bottom and under the “404 Page Suggestions” section. Just uncheck “Update the URL bar” and click Save Settings.

If you want to figure out which plugin is causing the issue, just deactivate all of the plugins, then retest. Then reactive each plugin one by one and retest after activating each one. Keep in mind there may be conflict between two plugins.

If you think some of the redirects are bad, of course you can delete all of the redirects and start over.

For the redirection issue you’ve described, it sounds like the very first setting on the options page is pointing to the page that you’re redirected to. On the Options page under “Automatic Redirects,” check the very first setting, “Redirect all unhandled 404s to,” and make sure it’s what you want it to be.

Hello, Aaron and thank you for your reply.

Just uncheck “Update the URL bar” and click Save Settings.

That definitely solved the first issue. Thank you so much!!

Regarding the rest of the redirections, they had not been set. These redirections are a symptom that something is going wrong. They are not unhandled 404, you will be redirected even when you write correctly the page you want to go.

if you try https://recorreba.com/mi-cuenta or https://recorreba.com/carro you will see that you are being redirected to a page “Argentina del Progreso” and that is wrong.

If you try to make a purchase from recorreba.com/tienda you will be redirected to https://recorreba.com/arquitectura-en-argentina/?redirect_to=%2Frecorridos-arquitectonicos%2Fargentina-del-progreso%2F, But even if you try making a purchase of any of the products displayed in /tienda, as for example “Brutalismo”
(and also if you type https://recorreba.com/producto/brutalismo-movimiento-moderno-parte-3/ you will see that checkout process is broken because of this ill redirection issue),

I tried disabling the plugins and also the cache.

Again thank you for the piece of advice and in case you have any further ideas, I will so much appreciate them.

    Regards

    Liliana

If it’s not a plugin I would look at htaccess next.

    Good luck.

    Hello again,

I could finally address the issue. It had nothing to do with 404 Solution but with a different plugin.

I appreciate very much your helping me address plugins conflicts.

We can close this ticket now as the issue has been resolved.

    My best regards

    Liliana
