I uploaded my blog to my family website, which is passwrod protected. Everyone cann access the page, but they automatically get there with ‘admin’ access. what is simplest way to let them access without the admin access, all i want them to do is be able to read or add comments

    Thanks

I went to options, and now put a check mark to ‘users must register and be logged in’ and set the New user Default Role to ‘Contributor’. Initially I had nothing with check mark in the membership area. I tried accessing again through my site and I automatically arrive to my blog logged in as administrator i.e. on the right side bar, the options are ‘Site Admin, Logout, Entries RSS,Comments RSS, WordPress’

Sorry, am new to this and have tried to figure it out on my own, but can’t seem to

    Thanks

It doesn’t matter what is in the sidebar.
What do you see in the Dashboard when you are logged in as a Contributor? <– that’s what matters!

Thanks, it is working properly now, I actually logged out of everything and went back in with a test userid I had created and people no longer have admin privileges automatically.

Thanks again for being so efficient and quick in your replies. Much appreciated
