• On my blog http://www.strippingbackthelayers.com the home page shows up on every page. I have deleted the contents of my blog entries, and i have deleted the widget i installed. nothing is changing.

2 days ago i moved the position of the widget, but i did this using Dreamweaver NOT WP. I have a feeling that this was the cause of my troubles, however I cannot find anyway to fix it, or infact to see if that was what actually broke it. If i make changes in Dreamweaver then they show up on the page, but not from WP.

  • Uninstall the widget and see what happens. I would think that to change the position of the widget you would have to make a change somewhere in a css file.

Close DW and never open it when you work with WP.
Explain this: “i moved the position of the widget, but i did this using Dreamweaver NOT WP.” – How?

I found the code for the widget box and moved it. The widget comes up in the middle of the page at the top (where it is now if you look at the page). In DW i found the code, and i cut & pasted it into a different position, so that it came up on the left hand column.

So now that i know that me messing around in DW has caused this error, is there anyway I can fix it?

Is anyone able to help me with this? can we fix our mistake or do i need to just start again.

    thanks in advance

replace the theme files that you edited with unedited ones. case closed.

if you dont have those theme files backed up somewhere, then go grab a new copy of the theme.
