Events vs productions

Would be great if I could clarify the terms ‘event’ and ‘production’.
I create an event. A film that is showing in our cinema.
I choose Event New, and it lists in the Event screen.
I add, say, five dates that the film will show.I think, the the film (that lists as an event, in the event screen) is in fact a ‘production’. And each individual date is an ‘event’.
Therefore,
- listing an event, should list an individual screening of the film.
- Listing a production ([wpt_production_events]) should give the film, its details and a list of the screening times (events).
- A list of productions will give me list of all the films available.
(And the Events menu and screen would be less confusingly called “Productions” )
Grateful for feedback if I am understanding these things correctly.
