    But I can’t find an event or its location anywhere that I need to publish or edit or correct.
    There is nowhere in the list of events or locations to indicate which entry is causing the display.

    For me it shows “Pending” next to the Event that needs approval:

    Also you can click on “Pending” to see just the events that need approval.

    That’s my guess too. But nothing is shown with status pending.

    I don’t see a single event displayed in the WordPress backend that has the status “pending”.
    Your comment gave me the idea to look directly into the database. There is an entry there with status “0”.

    I checked this with other installations and saw this there too and solved it via the database.

    Another problem is if I create a recurring events with i.e. 14 events and delete two of them, then these events are still displayed in the frontend for visitors, but no see in backend. Here too I have to go directly via the database and solve the problem.
