I’m simply trying to figure out what The Events Calendar needs in the default page template to display properly. I have a basic page template that is simply calling the thumbnail, title, and content, and it works for ‘regular’ pages. But the Events Calendar page and all the event sub-pages are blank. (I verified that the plugin works properly in the default twentynineteen theme; this is a custom theme, in development.) What does the plugin need/want in a custom page template in order to display properly?

(WP 5.0 with the Classic Editor plugin; running PHP 7.2)

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @supernaut510!

As long as your basic page template (which must be page.php) is calling get_header(), get_footer() and the WordPress loop with the_content() inside, your Events Calendar page should be displayed. If that’s not the case, please verify you have “Default Page Template” set as your Events template in Events > Settings > Display tab.

    Cheers,
    Jeremy
