I am new here, and not very familiar neither with WordPress nor with forums, so please feel free to tell me if I’m not posting in the right place, or any other thing I might do wrong.
My configuration is WordPress 3.9.1 with the ColorLabs Magnus Theme 1.1.3 and The Events Calendar 3.6.1.
In my theme, the homepage displays the posts.
My goal is to add the events from my calendar on the homepage, too.
There is a checkbox in The Events Calendar preferences panel to do that, but obviously my Theme prevents it from working fine.
Then I found a function on this forum here. I added this function to my child theme functions file and it does the job. Now the events are considered as other posts.
This is visible on the still under construction homepage here: http://becair.com/WordPress3/.
Now there is one more thing I miss.
By default, for every post on the homepage, my theme shows the category of the post, then a dash, then a relative date. As you can see in the slider (e.g. Nouveautés – il y a 3 semaines, which means New publications – 3 weeks ago). Fine as far as the posts are concerned.
But with the events, no category is displayed, which is normal I guess, and the relative date is pointless. I would just like to write “Events” in place of the post category, then get the dates of the event, exactly like in the widget that I use in the footer.
And I don’t know how to do.
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance
Fred, Le Bec en l’air.
