Support » Plugin: Eventbrite API » Events not showing/invalid nonce keyring

  • Hi guys

I’m trying to set up the API for our EB events, however I can’t seem to get the events to show.

I’ve followed the setup instructions, got the API connected to EB successfully (the test works) and can see the events if I manually use the ID/Oauth on the EB site. I’ve also been able to add the EB template to the page, but it just shows the heading but no events (nothing shows in page source either).

I’m getting an error for Keyring of “Invalid/missing Keyring core nonce. All core actions require a valid nonce” if I do the verify on the domain. What would be causing this? I’ve looked through some other responses of people having similar issues, but nothing seems to help. I’ve tried deleting and reinstating the key, adding a new key on EB side, changing the values in the keyring, but nothing seems to fix it.

    Am I missing something?

  • Sorry the URL for the page is http://www.cosmeticinstituteofaustralia.com.au/eventbrite/ if that helps.

    Hi purpletux,

I believe this issue comes up when there’s a mismatch with the site the plugin is on and the OAuth Redirect URL entered on eventbrite.com. Can you verify that Connecting to Eventbrite step 3 here is all matching properly?

Yes I’ve double checked that and tried creating a new key, etc. but still get the same error.

The start of the OAuth Redirect URL is the same as the Application URL.

Hi purpletux, are you still having this issue? It’s not much of an answer, but we’ve had this problem just go away sometimes.

Yes I’m still having this problem and no it isn’t just going to go away from what I can see.

There isn’t anything else that I can try? Surely there has to be some troubleshooting methods to fix it? I’ve followed all of the instructions exactly?

    Thanks

Hm, quite a while ago, there were issues with some country TLDs – is your account all done through eventbrite.com.au? Maybe see if signing up through eventbrite.com helps at all. Other than starting from scratch (deleting and reinstalling plugins, making sure the db has no eventbrite options, and no kr_* post types in the posts table). :/

Hi purpletux, any luck with this?

No I tried removing everything from the database, and reinstalling the plugins from scratch, but still getting the same error.

I can’t try signing up via .com as it’s a client’s account and they’ve already set everything up. I don’t think they would want to do it all again.

If we don’t have any other options, we’ll likely have to drop Eventbrite and just sell directly through the site.

No I’ve tried your suggestion to drop all eventbrite and keyring entries from the database, and then reinstall the plugins, but still receive the same error.

I believe they would have signed up via the .com.au as it generally sends you there when you’re in Australia. Surely the API should work no matter what region you connect in though? As the client has already set everything up, I don’t think they would want to do it all again.

If we don’t have any other avenues to get it working, we may have to move away from eventbrite to another option.
