I have a simple test calendar with a few events on it. I have created a Google Calendar API key, and given my calendar public access (which works in my native calendar app, and other plugins that do not us an API Key). I have added the API key to the plugin settings. When I display the “Pretty Google Calendar” the events do not show up.
I have recreated the API key several times. Google has changed the API creation pages so I could not follow that steps exactly but I think I got it right.

Is there a way to test the API Key to make sure it is working? Anything else I may have missed with regards to the events not showing up?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Howdy! Not sure what the issue could be without taking a deeper dive. If you’d like I could take a closer look at your setup. (The link above has expired).

Thanks for trying. I had to move on and look for another plugin.

Sorry to hear it didn’t work… I’m guessing there’s a strange conflict with another plugin, or other issue particular with your setup as this doesn’t seem to be a common issue.

Closing for now, and good luck!

I am having this same problem and I would really like this plugin to work for me.

I fixed the problem. The API restrictions need to have the “don’t restrict key” button checked.

Great! I’ll make a note to add that to the setup. Enjoy!

The setup instructions seem to be extremely out of date. None of the pages or options described show up. The new Google API setup is extremely confusing. Or am I missing something?
Updated instructions for creating an API with links to the pages etc would be very helpful.

Other plugins work with the API, but not this one. So API is OK, Calendar is OK. Selecting “don’t restrict key” had no effect in my case.

I’m having the same problem with WordPress 6.1. I know the API key etc. is good because Events Calendar for Google displays the events fine.

It’s difficult to debug without more information. If you’d like I’d be happy to look at your particular installation and see if we can find the conflict.
