Events not listed in dashboard v3.7.4

I’ve installed Events Organiser as it looks like it will do the things I need with widgets. I’ve already tried several calendar modules that didn’t meet my needs, and have now uninstalled them before installing Events Organizer. I’m using the Divi theme.
I can add a new event, however, it doesn’t show up in the events dashboard, so I can’t access it from the dashboard at all. It will show up in the front end calendar widget, or the events widget for all events, however, I can’t specify a specific category to display, apparently it doesn’t recognize the category id. I can add venues, categories with no issues.
Can you help me out here, please!!
