Howdy DanaJoy2008,
That is certainly peculiar, and no good. Have you tried a conflict test. This guide walks you through how to test for a conflict, and then identify what is conflicting. I have never really seen something like that before, which is why I would be highly suspicious of a conflict.
When you click View Event from the backend, do you see the event?
Cheers!

Brook,
Thanks so much for responding! I followed your conflict test, and now … magically … all of the events are visible. I restored the theme and all of the plugins … and the events are still visible.
I’m kind of dumb-founded! But whatever — it works now and that’s all I care about. The only thing I did was flush the cache twice, but I flushed the cache before and it had no impact.
Thanks!
BROOK: Spoke too soon! They are not showing up now, and I’ve had a friend check, and they aren’t visible to her either. I’ve cleared the cache and changed the theme and nothing’s working.
ETA: I cleared the cache (AGAIN) and now they are showing up for me on Chrome on a laptop. When I use my smartphone (also using Chrome), they aren’t visible.
I guess I need to find a new calendar function, but I don’t want to, because I like the way this one works! Can you advise further?
How odd! This unquestionably sounds like a serverside caching issue. Do you have a caching plugin? Does your website host have a caching system. What happens if you clear those? If nothing, what happens if you disable them.
If it is your website host’s cache, would you let us know the name of your host?
Thanks!

Brook,
I contacted GoDaddy, and they said the following:
Ben – I apologize for any confusion but there is not way to disable this, We cache your site for you to help with the speed of the managed WordPress.
Dana – Okay. I wonder how the other person got confused over my product. Maybe you can help me then. I keep having problems with plugins on my site, and the issues to be revolving around the cache. I know how to flush the cache on my own, but that doesn’t seem to help the overarching issue. I don’t have a separate cache plugin either. Is there anything to be done on this end of the equation?
Ben – There is not as caching plugins are not allowed on shared hosting as we cahce it ourselves.
Dana – So when the developers of the plugins tell me it’s a caching issue, they’re wrong about that?
Ben – Correct
Thoughts?

Hi,
I do not make much of that conversation. I do not see evidence presented to rule out GoDaddy server caching, but it could be something else too.
You clearly cleared a cache and it started working at least in Chrome. Since GoDaddy is caching themselves I am not sure how they can rule it out like that.
Are you able to check the error logs and see if you find an error there?
What about downgrading to version 3.9.3 does that one work?
Thanks for all of your help. I’m going to use a different calendar — I just need something that works consistently without errors.
I hope you find something that works. We’ll keep our ear out for any more possible issues with GoDaddy’s evidently builtin cache. It sounds like its hard or impossible to clear. We might not be able to do anything, but you never know. Thanks for sharing the details!
Cheers!
