  • Hi,

    Is it possible to post the PHP error? and maybe its a network related problem; you can retry it again and give us feedback.

    I received a PHP error, as well. The error I saw said something about the function is_set() being undefined. Does the Events Manager plugin include a function called is_set() or is that a typo somewhere in the code that should refer to isset()?

    Does it display any line number or filename? Also is it a Fatal error or warning/notice? And is there any posibility to try turning-off the PHP display error then retry again?

    To get my client web site back working here’s what I did:

    1. De-activated Event Manager v5.0.4
    2. Renamed the folder for Event Manager
    3. Uploaded Event Manager v5.0.1
    4. Upgraded Event Manager to v5.0.4

    My events now work however in the WordPress Dashboard I still have the lingering message, “Events Manager upgrade still in progress…”

    Hey, it’s free software and obviously has some unpleasant bugs in it.

    Oops, step 3.5, activated v5.0.1

    I got this too and all my events have disappeared.

    I don’t have v.5.01 but did try deactivating, renaming and then installing latest version again – sadly that didn’t work as my events are still missing.

    Not sure if this helps to track the bug, but this is the error that Timber plugin reports….

    Array
    (
    [fatal_types] => 245
    [error] => Array
    (
    [type] => 1
    [message] => Call to undefined function is_set()
    [file] => /home/myaccount/public_html/wp-content/plugins/events-manager/em-install.php
    [line] => 876
    )

    are you also using version 5.0.4? and if you can try this one http://wp-events-plugin.com/blog/2012/01/05/events-gone-after-upgrading-read-this/

    Try editing em-install.php then find is_set and replace with isset that should fix the issue however this will be fix on the next update.

    OK, editing line 876 of plugin file em-install.php to replace “is_set” with “isset” did fix the error message.

    Thank you for the fix.

    Changing “is_set” with “isset” did not fix it for me. Nor did following the link you put above fix my events. Looking at the table I actually have post_id field – but they are all set to 0

    Here’s where you download older versions like v5.0.1

    Thanks Daniel.

    In desparation I actually totally removed EM, not just the plugin but deleted it from the database (luckily I only had a few forthing events which I can quickly enter again)

    Unfortunately even with doing that and then installing the latest version I STILL get that same message, even though it’s not an upgrade!!!

    I shall now try installing v.5.0.1 [sigh]

    OK. So I installed v.5.0.1.RC and then tested that by adding an event. All ok.

    I then upgraded to v. 5.0.41. I still have the following problems:

    — a pink message that upgrade is still in progress.

    — a yellow message saying I need to migrate location and event images. However when I click on the link within that message all I get is a blank page.

    — I have added 3 events and have 3 errors reported by Timber plugin:

    Array
    (
    [fatal_types] => 245
    [error] => Array
    (
    [type] => 64
    [message] => Cannot redeclare em_install() (previously declared in /home/bcdscana/public_html/wp-content/plugins/events-manager/em-install.php:4)
    [file] => /home/bcdscana/public_html/wp-content/plugins/events-manager/em-install.php
    [line] => 59
    )

    )

    I checked and files show isset as opposed to is_set

    try 5.0.42, also, wait a little to see if the update in progress page disappears. if not, do you have any other errors e.g. sql errors?

    that last error is wierd as it’s the start/end of the cufnction
