[resolved] Events Manager search all instead of only future? (9 posts)

    For the life of me I cannot find a way to make the search option on the events page search for all events instead of only the future events. Any guidance is very much appreciated.

    While on the topic, what is the format to enter on the date range fields. No matter what I enter on 'between' and 'and' fields the list shows all date ranges.

    Many thanks in advance.

    I tried this one and seems to be working fine; do you have a sample link for us to see and analyze?

    Here is the event list page with search enabled.

    You can see that there are no events displayed from the past. Whereas the following page has a shortcode with scope="all" and searching events of 'Chas & Dave' and it displays events from February.

    [events_list_grouped mode="monthly" scope="all" search="Chas & Dave"]{is_past}<em>{/is_past}#_EVENTDATES - #_LOCATIONLINK <span style="text-transform:uppercase;">#_LOCATIONTOWN</span> {has_time} - #_EVENTTIMES {/has_time} <a href="#_EVENTURL">more...</a>{is_past}</em>{/is_past}[/events_list_grouped]

    I have EM search integrated with WP search and WP search can find past events.

    aside from date range; you can also modify template file wp-content/plugins/events-manager/templates/templates/events-list.php

    you can add this snippet

    $args['scope'] = "all";

    just above

    $events_count = EM_Events::count( apply_filters('em_content_events_args', $args) );

    or hook into em_content_events_args filter

    You can also use order and orderby attributes - http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/event-search-attributes/

    to use templates: http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/using-template-files/

    Do I interpret what you are saying as EM searches only future events by default?

    yes, if you are not using date range searches.

    Addition of

    $args['scope'] = "all";

    did the trick. Thank you.

    I have installed this plugin on http://conradcoelho.com/events.
    However, it doesnt display the entire of list of events, past, present and future. There are 2 formats calender mode and search mode. Calender mode is not too appealing and search mode doesnt display all by default. is there a tweak with which I can display the entire list of events irrespective of the dates. Also the events are located in a different zone and when i add that place it displays under locations. It confuses the visitors of which location is the permanent one and which is just for the events. if there was a possibility that permanent locations and temporary locations would have separate titles so that it becomes easy on them to understand. http://www.conradcoelho.com/events/locations/
