Hiya,
Sounds like something is very wrong with this install :/
Is it a production site or just development? If the latter is suggest backing up your content and flushing the database to start again.
Cheers,
Phil

Its development, quite developed though! I was in the process of starting a fresh install, moving over the theme. Then was going to export certain posts and pages, then re-install all the plugins I am using, and filling in the details. Would ‘flushing’ the db in the current install be a better move? Exactly how do i flush it out? Erase the entire db and build a new one then link new db up in wp-config? Thanks for any advice.
Sounds like problems 1 and 2 are problems you’re seeing in admim? Do they also appear on the site?
If you switch to the default theme do any of these problems go away?
Maybe you tried another events plugin that didn’t delete its data when uninstalled?

Yes the 1 and 2 issues are mainly just present in the admin. They are being pulled into the site fine, but I’d like to get the corrupted mess straightened out.
3rd issue is fine when I check it in 2012 theme. Like I mentioned above, I also posted on the theme’s support line because that sounds like it may be another issue? Not sure, but I had no prob’s until recently.
I did try another events plugin ( events organiser ) which may have added to the mess. But I’m pretty sure I deleted all those files too. I used the Garbage Collector plugin plus went through the db with a magnifying glass.
I could just erase the EM plugin, but I need an events solution in the site.
thanks!
maybe you can try a fresh install of em/wp instead since your previous installation of other events plugin could have been messed up the entire settings.
you could try actually uninstalling EM (when activated, see the plugins page or visit Settings > General > ADmin Tools

I did try uninstalling but some problems still existed. I actually copied the theme folder over and just rebuilt pages and added plugins. Im back to square one, things are looking good. Im going to back up my db then install EM fresh and go from there. Hopefully it plays nice with the theme, Im fairly confident the problems were db related. Ill report back if there is a conflict. Thanks
ok, let us know if you still have further issues.

OK. I used the same theme I copied over, but new DB and installed plugins again. Did not install any other Events plugins. Upon installing the EM plugin things were going smooth, i adjusted some settings, enabled the anonymous registration, the events widget.
However, when I open the Events tab (after creating 2 events) there was nothing there.
I went to the Locations tab, and just as before, it pulled in every post I created and had a list of about 15 empty posts titled ‘no title’.
I did some de-bugging and found that the User Photo plugin had some deprecated stuff and was throwing a lot of errors. I deactivated it, but no changes in admin screen.
I’m working locally but can migrate it to a live server if your able to take a look? Or any suggestions?
thanks

Also, I placed the Events, Categories and Locations pages in the nav. Events opens fine but Cat’s and Location’s throw a 404

have you tried re-saving permalinks at WP Settings > Permalinks ?
just to be clear, on your new install, is this not working with other plugins disabled and/or your theme being 2012?
remember to resave permalinks after disabling/enabling stuff each time

By disabling plugins, there is no effect. However, when I switch to Twenty Twelve, the 2 events I published ARE listed when I click the Events tab in the admin, and when I navigate to Locations in the admin, all the empty posts ARE gone and it’s displaying the two locations I created correctly. And I keft resaving permalink structure as well. Thanks

So it does appear to be working correctly when switching themes, although Im still getting 404s on the Locations page and Categogory pages. My URLs seem to be whats set in the pages section. My events are located at http://localhost/detroitsounds/events/categories/
and in the permalinks slugs Ive tried http://localhost/detroitsounds/events/categories/
and just /events/categories/
. Although to be honest Im more concerned about why its not working with my theme?
