Support » Plugin: Events Manager » Events Manager integration with Salesforce

  • Resolved Adam Blythe

I am trying to capture event data to populate form fields in Salesforce CRM.

A registration form displaying Name and email address fields would feature below each event but also capture event data such as event name, event date and event location in hidden form fields.

Salesforce does recognise hidden form fields, I have already successfully captured data in hidden form fields with simple text values as a test. It is, however, the dynamic stuff that I want to capture i.e. event name, date and location.

Currently I am using the free version of Events Manager but am upgrading to Pro later on today.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

  • Did you try using the EM object? e.g. global $EM_Event; then $EM_Event->event_name ?

Thanks for your response. I didn’t try your suggestion above, however, I got it to work! Just out of curiosity, what is the EM object and where/how would I use it?

I have simply inserted the form code generated from Salesforce into the ‘default single event format’ field under the ‘formats/layouts tab in events manager settings.

I have also gone further to capture other event details including event location and start date using event managers ‘event related placeholders’ to populate fields in Salesforce. Now, anything is possible to capture!

Below is my form code. To start with, I simply created some custom form fields in Salesforce, then i went on to create a web-to-lead-form, generated the code for that form, and pasted it appropriately into events manager.

I’m hoping to do EXACTLY the same task as you did (integrate Salesforce with Event Manager). Can you please try to post your code again? Perhaps use “pastebin” or send it in chunks of 10 lines?

I would be so very grateful!!!

    Hi idesign123,

    Please see code here.

Above is the code generated from salesforce using the web-to-lead form creator. Here you can choose predefined fields to feature in your web-to-lead form.

Note, pay attention to the hidden form fields at the bottom. These capture data such as event date, location and name by using event manager’s shortcode placholders. See ‘value=””‘.

    Hope this helps.
