Support » Plugin: Events Manager » Events list in a single event page

  • Hi,

Can I use the events list shortcode within single event page to show “more events”?

When I try, it displays a list of events – all with the name and image of the event from the single event page itself, is there a workaround?

    Thanks,
    Asaf

Hi Asaf, this will be fixed in the next update (which should be out in the next 24 hours).

#_CATEGORYNEXTEVENTS is defined in classes/em-taxonomy-term.php but it applies to all taxonomies. See here for custom placeholder tutorial and use the em_category_output_placeholder filter – http://wp-events-plugin.com/tutorials/create-a-custom-placeholder-for-event-formatting/

    Hi Asaf,

Unfortunately it looks like we’ll have to revert this change in the next update. Whilst it fixes your problem, it breaks functionality for most others using it differently, where shortcodes in formats using arguments that are placeholders are not parsed properly. For example:

    [events_list location=”#_LOCATIONID”]…[/events_list]

Will no longer work, because the shortcode is parsed before we parse the placeholders outside of shortcodes (including the arguents). Therefore, the argument is #_LOCATIONID and not a number.

As the original behaviour was already serving a purpose, we’ll have to go back to that, and figure out a solution for your scenario, but sadly it’ll be something we’ll need to punt down the line as it’s not such an easy fix.

    Okay,

    Thanks for the update.

    Asaf
