• Hello,

I’m interested in your event plugin for a website I’m developing, but I need to know something before I use it: I need events to be included in the blog section of my website, just as regular posts, with a specific category but with a layout as close as possible from regular posts. Is this possible and, in this case, will the events appear as usual in the calendar (I intend to put a calendar on my website’s homepage)?

    Thank you very much 🙂

    Cheers,
    Nuno

  • I’m interested in the same thing, but it seems that most Calendar/Event plugins use their own taxonomy.

One would think that it’s be quite simple just to add a custom post format in the standard post editor area with the standard categories and tags, plus an extra box of event related fields, so the post would be listed normally along with all other posts, and a calendar widget to display only the posts that have the event post format selected.

Event organiser is the first plugin I tested in the hopes that such a simple solution would be offered, but the only workaround I found is (1) create an event, (2) create a post with the standard taxonomy you need + a link to the event page or a shortcode. This way you would have duplicate data, but at least you’d have event data in your regular posts.

If you find another plugin that can simply add event related fields to a standard post, please let us know.
