    Hi @webxcrawler,

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review 🙂

I was a little sad to see you left just one star for what you describe as a great plugin … and if the reason for that is the ‘missing’ calendar widget then I can’t help but feel that a single star review is just a little unfair.

The mini-calendar widget is certainly something that’s very desirable — we’ve spent a lot of time crafting and refining it over the years — but I disagree that it is fundamental. Quite the opposite – it’s generally something that site operators may like, but not something that they would require in order to add solid calendar functionality to their website.

Is it possible for you to revise your rating or, if you prefer not to, is there any more information you can share about your particular use-case that would illustrate why that widget specifically is so essential to your project? We’re always grateful for any insights you can share that might help us to improve our offerings going forward 🙂

    Thanks again!

I find this a bit confusing. The events list widget comes with the core/free plugin, but doesn’t show on the pages. According to the knowledge base, the events list widget is a core element. So if I understand correctly now the widget does indeed not work without the Pro version?
And I humbly disagree @barry. I consider it a basic function of an event plugin and if it is not included I will look for one that does include the widget.

    Hi there, @troela.

Let me clarify things as I think there is some confusion here: The Events Calendar comes complete with an events list widget and you do not require any other plugins (such as Events Calendar PRO) to use it.

If you are having difficulties locating or using it, please do post on the community support forums and a team member or fellow user may be able to point you in the right direction 🙂

Events Calendar PRO on the other hand adds additional widgets, including a calendar grid/month-by-month widget – which I understood the review by @webxcrawler was concerned with.

And I humbly disagree @barry. I consider it a basic function of an event plugin and if it is not included I will look for one that does include the widget.

We’d be sad to lose you to a different plugin and I am inclined not to agree on this point: to my mind, additional widgets are a nice-to-have and not a necessity (especially since a full-featured month view is provided by the plugin – it’s just not in the form of a widget).

That said, I’m wholly accepting that is no one’s opinion but my own. If it’s a dealbreaker for you and paying for Events Calendar PRO isn’t viable, I’m afraid that, realistically, there’s not much more we can offer you at this time.

I’m glad you cleared that up. If the basic listing widget is included, I agree that extra widgets and layouts, of course, go with a Pro version. I only needed the basic one widget-on-the-side.

And it seems I have to now find a solution to a problem 🙂
