Events Calendar slowing down website

the following website (https://pearlbuckcenter.com) was running really slow and we disabled and re-enabled all the plugins one at a time and found that the events calendar was the culprit for slowing down the site to a crawl. Once we disabled it, the site ran much better. What would be the issue/conflict with causing the site to run so slow with the events calendar. Any know conflicts with other plugins?

The Events Calendar can handle large numbers of events and work well even in very high traffic websites. However, it is important to understand that performance is dependent on many environmental factors that the plugin itself is often unable to manage automatically.
