    Hi
    My users on the site below are getting the error message:
    ====================
    The http://www.cambridgeramblingclub.com page isn’t working

    http://www.cambridgeramblingclub.com is currently unable to handle this request.
    500
    =============================
    This happens when Wordfence is activated and even set to security level 0 after a new instal.

    If the Events Calendar WordPress user is an Admin all works OK but as an Editor it produces the above message when trying to create a new event.

    Do you have any ideas please 🙂 as I don’t want to make all the sites users Admins! Equally I don’t want to remove Wordfence.

    All suggestions welcome and thanks for a great product.

    Regards
    Geoff

  • Hello geofones!
    You should definitely not make all your users admins! 🙂 Internal server errors can be thrown for several different reasons, for example due to a htaccess conflict, conflicts in the code or the code could even be timing out.

    To get more information about what is actually happening when the internal server error is thrown it might help to check the server error logs for that 500. Do you have access to your the server error logs on your host? If not, any chance you can ask your host to provide them or check them for you?

    Hi wfasa thanks for the reply. I now have a set of error logs for the site. How do I send them to you?

    I’ve found this :
    [Thu Mar 24 02:13:23 2016] [error] [client 86.129.150.123] (103)Software caused connection abort: Failed to flush CGI output to client, referer: http://www.cambridgeramblingclub.com/events/

    Hello geofones!
    That message indicates there is some problem with the process handling and/or error logging in your web server. Could you send that error example to your web host and see what they have to say about it?

    Problem solved!
    Upgrading from PHP5.2 to PHP5.6 solved the problem 🙂
    Many thanks for your help

    Good news geofones, and many thanks for reporting back!
