Hi @triprems
Thanks for reaching out!
The difference between the two sites is that on “ddd” you are using the legacy design while on “nt” you are using the updated calendar designs.
The setting is under Events > Settings > Display tab > Use update calendar designs.
Also, on the “nt” site since there is not enough width for the calendar to display comfortably the mobile resolution kicks in.
This article can give you some guidance on how you can change that behavior or disable responsiveness:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/responsive-templates/
This is also why event descriptions are not appearing in cells.
The “Next month pager” only shows up if there are events in the future from the current month. If you don’t have any events starting Jan 2021, then the Next month will not show up in Dec 2020.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Andras
Hi Andras,
Thanks for the reply!
I am not seeing an option to use “Updated Calendar designs” in the plugin display settings, but there are options for default stylesheet and page template. I’ve disabled Tribe events styles (using skeleton styles) and the result is a bit closer to what we were expecting: https://health.hawaii.gov/nt/events/ .
Also, we tried the full width template, but the bullets for list items are showing up in the calendar display (as you can see by clicking on the calendar View button).
When comparing settings on the two sites (running the same plugins and theme), the difference seems to be that the NT website is missing the “Full Styles” option under display settings, but I do not see any options to enable this.
Thanks, and Happy Holidays!

Hi @triprems
Apologies for the long pause here.
I was checking the NT site just now. There’s something funky going on there. After about a minute the processor of my PC spins up like crazy and the page doesn’t react to anything. Then it does for a bit and again nothing… I’ve seen this happen when a script (likely broken) is running on the page. I have now blocked “siteimproveanalitics” and that seemed to solve it.
Looking at the browser console I do see some errors seemingly coming from out plugin. I suspect some conflict in the background.
> I am not seeing an option to use “Updated Calendar designs”
You are not seeing this option because you are already using them. 🙂 It’s interesting though still, because you should be able to disable that setting.
In any case here’s a screenshot of where you should be able to find it.
When using the Updated Designs then you don’t have the “Full Styles” option, only Skeleton or Tribe Events styles.
Skeleton styles basically gives you a barebone style to allow you to style your calendar the way you want it.
Tribe Events styles will give you our styling that comes out of the box.
Also when using the updated design you do not have a page title for the calendar.
Hope this helps. Let me know if any more questions.

Hi Andras,
Ok… thanks for the information!
I’ve checked with the server admins regarding disabling the SiteImprove plugin, and will check some of the other errors in console.
Thanks!

Let me know the results and if we can close this ticket or not.

Hi Andras,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I checked the NT website, and it looks like there are still some missing styles for lists (pager and display format) in the full width page view (with skeleton and Tribe styles enabled).
I switched back to the Events Template (with sidebar), and it seems to resolve these issues.
Please go ahead and close this ticket.
Thanks.
