Events Calendar 4.9.3 Broke EC Pro Page
-
Oh no!
Events Calendar V4.9.3 broke our website’s Events calendar page when we upgraded EC Pro to latest version, V4.7.3.
🙁
-
Issue confirmed. This change broke the page: http://prntscr.com/nyj2z4
Problem went away when we downgraded plugins back to V4.9.2 and V4.7.2 (Pro), respectively.
We prefer not to have the “previous events” link corrected in V4.9.3 over a broken page.
Our website’s Event page uses the EC-approved shortcodes for customizing page display.
Cheers!
Hi @jetxpert
Thanks for reporting this! Sorry this is happening. We will look into this shortly! Thanks for your patience in the meantime.
Cheers,
AndrasHi @jetxpert,
We apologize for the inconvenience. We’ve just found there is a problem with how permalinks are generated for week and photo views which causes those views to not work correctly.
We’re currently working towards a fix and we’ll let you know once we have it.
Could you please confirm this is the problem you experienced?
Thanks in advance,
VictorBefore EC Plugin Updates (GOOD):
Drop Downs: (“View As”)
All working (list, day, week, month, and map) but don’t show Previous Events link
After EC Plugin Updates (BAD):
Drop Downs: (“View As”)
List working (shows Previous Events link)
Month working (shows Previous Events link)
Week not working (404 page displayed)
Day not working (shows event for the day but not Previous Event or Day link)
Map working (shows Previous Events link)Notes:
(1) In all of the above drop down cases (after updating the plugins), the Main Event and other images do not display. Also, our Events page slider (top of page) is not displayed (i.e., missing).
(2) We do not have the Photos drop down activated by default.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
Oh, and while you’re updating the codes, can you bring back the dismiss button (X) for “THIS EVENT HAS PASSED”? Very useful in many cases.
Thank you!
Hi @jetxpert!
Thanks a lot for sending over that info.
We’ve just released a fix that should address those issues. Please update safely and let us know if it works for you.
As for the “THIS EVENT HAS PASSED”, could you please explain where you were seeing this before and now not showing?
Thanks for your patience and cooperation so far 🙂
Cheers,
Victor@vicskf ,

@vicskf ,
Just installed latest update (V4.9.3.1). Fixed!
Dismiss button, still missing (not part of original issue).
Cheers!
Hi @jetxpert
I believe the dismiss button is (was) part of the theme you are using. To the best of my knowledge that Dismiss [X] never was an option in our plugins. If, then added by custom code / theme.
@aguseo ,
After doing some research, found the problem. You are correct, it was a theme issue.
We are using Theme-Fusion’s Avada theme. For some reason the Fusion Builder Element: Alert was unchecked. We re-checked the box and, voila, problem solved.
Thank you!
Hi @jetxpert
Great find there, congrats! Happy to hear that solved it!
I am going to mark this ticket as resolved. If you need anything else we’ll be happy to help.
Cheers,
Andras
