• I have suddenly started having events becoming orphaned on my Multisite.

They’ll show up as a count All(1) Published(1) but won’t show in the calendar or in the list of events. I can see the event in the wp_em_events table, but so far as the site is concerned the event doesn’t exist.

Using the orphaned event tool does nothing..

Additionally, new events forget their location and time…

  • Hello. I’m sorry to hear you’re running into this issue. Hopefully we can work to get this figured out so you’re up and running properly again. Which version of Events Manager, Events Manager Pro and WordPress are you using?

    I am on 4.8.2
    Running version Version 5.7.3.3

Thank you for getting me this additional information. Please try reactivating the default WP theme and see if the events are still not displaying, also try disabling all other active plugins.

I can do that on our staging copy of our site but it’d be exceedingly difficult to do on our live site as it’d adversely effect a lot of peoples work.

Our staging site is the same configuration, theme and plugins and isn’t experiencing this issue.

So, on my dev site I’m was running 1 version behind, 5.7.3 vs 5.7.3.3.

When updating to 5.7.3.3 date/location are lost. When reverting to 5.7.3 they appear functional again.

This does not fix orphaned events however.

Is the staging site the same down to all the plugins and versions as well and were any of them recently updated. Are you running any caching plugins?

    Thread Starter Jason

    (@zushiba)

Yeah it’s running the same plugins & patch levels. We’re using WP Super Cache.

Generally I test new major revisions before pushing them live but I didn’t see any changes in the subversion that I thought would cause a problem so I updated live.

Have you tried reverting the live site back to 5.7.3 ?

    Thread Starter Jason

    (@zushiba)

Yes, reverting to 5.7.3 does fix the location/time drop issue but it doesn’t fix the orphaned event issue.

Is there anything different about the events that have become orphaned? Have they been duplicated, for example?

Is this affecting single events, recurring events or both?

    Thread Starter Jason

    (@zushiba)

I haven’t seen it happen to recurring events but then, we don’t have any users having created any so I can’t say for sure.

can you try the latest EM dev version 5.7.3.4 ?
