Just installed this plugin and so far it looks pretty damn solid. I’m going to try testing it out for a private family website in the next week or so.
The only real concern so far is when I put in my first test event that ran for 5 days, it did not include the end date, only the time.
For example, my test event ran from July 10th at 1:00pm to July 15th at 11:00am, and this is how it was displayed:
July 10th 2011 1:00pm – 11:00am at Venue Name
I just figured it might be nice to include both dates.
Ohh, and I know asking for an email before a form is presented is probably more beneficial to most, but it might be nice to make it optional for people with private sites like myself that don’t need that validation. (just a selfish thought)
Other than that, I have to figure out why the form looks so plain. Is there a screenshot of how it should look? My css must be screwed or something because my form looks very 1990’s. lol
If I find anything else I can suggest that I would think would improve it, I’ll definitely throw them out there. Thank you very much for the time and effort to make this available for us. 🙂
Thanks,
Sel
I’d like to throw a couple more things out there. If any of these are possible already, I apologize for my lack of familiarity with the plugin so far.
-Linked events for the widget that brings you to the event page.
-Or if not linked events in sidebar, perhaps a calendar view with clickable dates or something? (not sure how that would work for days with multiple events though)
-Allow the widget to include upcoming events for all venues.
-Admin option to auto approve submitted events (perhaps by role)
Cool, thanks for considering. 🙂

I’ll address the other points in a minute, but the form is deliberately unstyled to allow you to specify your styling preferences in your stylesheet.
- Link to events from sidebar
This feature is planned in the next release. The original difficulty stemmed from the plugins inability to automatically detect which page the event shortcode was placed in.
Oh, ok, makes sense about being unstyled. I’ll have to start googling for how to mess with that and make it looks a little better or something.
Thanks again for the updates and making this plugin so cool.

thought of a couple more that might be nice.
-events that can occur for longer than 5 days. (for such things as vacations, conferences, film festivals, etc.)
-the ability to make an event to be an all day event (no times included)
-and although I mentioned it earlier, it would definitely be nice to be able to include all events for all venues in the upcoming events widget.
Thanks,
Sel
I’m having a problem with the plug-in. I was only able to place three events successfully. The others are not appearing, though I saved them. A few of them I forgot to Approve so they were sent to the director of the group. It would be great if the admin could go in and approve the event if they forget to do it the first time. I added more venues and they are showing up in the list. So, my biggest problem is not getting more than 3 events to show.
Thanks,
Deb
I was able to change the code to allow events of up to 14 days, can you point me to the hack to allow the widget to display X number of events for ALL venues? Not sure who would ever want to only show events for one venue. Not me anyway. 🙂
Create a new page for your events and list them there.
Adding every upcoming event of every place in your listing will become too large to manage for a sidebar widget.
