Event List Attribute Display

I would like to add an attribute to my events and have it displayed on the default Events List page. That is not a problem, fairly easy to do. However, is there a way to only display the attribute if it has a value? Sort of like using the {has_location} tags to display the attribute only if it exists? I can’t seem to figure out where to look in the documentation for this.
