 * Hello,
 * I am trying to import events using a csv file.
    I have more than 1000 events
   to import. But when I try to do so, only 40 are imported. It seems that there
   is a limit of 40 events imported at one time, and if so I will have to do a lot
   of imports ! Is there something I can do to change this limit ?
 * Thank you.

 * Hi [@smashcfr](https://wordpress.org/support/users/smashcfr/),
 * There is not a software limit for event imports. Only hardware, so the “limit”
   depends from your server resources. Either you should temporary increase your
   server resources so as to be able to import more events each time, or you should
   make those imports in a local environment and then move the whole WordPress installation
   online.
 * Thanks,
    Savvas

 * Hi,
 * Thank you for your answer [@savvasha](https://wordpress.org/support/users/savvasha/).
 * I think there is something I do not understand, because it nearly works but…
   no.
 * I modified my local .htaccess with huge values (I know it works as I had to modify
   them when installing WP :

 * When I am in the import screen, I can see it has been taken into account :
    [https://snipboard.io/8tVPb9.jpg](https://snipboard.io/8tVPb9.jpg)
 * I pick the file and import it.
    At the end of the first step, I have all lines
   imported : [https://snipboard.io/Arf3NR.jpg](https://snipboard.io/Arf3NR.jpg)
 * But if I confirm, only 40 are really imported into the database. With 4Go memory
   allowed it seems impossible :

 * Is there something I miss ?

 * You need to increase some more limits I think. Please check the following:

 * If you look your php error log you can easily identify which limit was reached
   during import 🙂

 * I,
 * Thank you again.
    I was sure that there was something else than memory, because
   I could not understand why I managed to import a 89Mo file into WordPress, but
   not 41 games in a 60Ko file. It was not logical, and was about to answer you
   that after having read the 3 links you posted.
 * But something you told leads to (I think) the real issue. In the php log file
   I have this : “[06-Jul-2021 17:20:19 UTC] PHP Warning: Unknown: Input variables
   exceeded 2500. To increase the limit change max_input_vars in php.ini. in Unknown
   on line 0”
 * I will try to check what this is and let you know here if I manage to solve the
   issue.
    Thanks 🙂

 * Great it seems to work !
 * It was not the biggest import, but increasing from 2500 to 250000 allowed the
   import to be carried out… 56 seconds.
    I now have to calculate to do the right
   thing on the production server, not only putting a big number to see if it works:
