    Hi,

We have some team meeting events on our calendar but in the event descriptions, the links aren’t clickable. Is there an option to make links inside the event description clickable or is it a bug?

    Thank you for your time.

The links should be clickable. I see they’re not though on your page. Can I get your exact shortcode (including your feed URL) to test? You can email it to the address on the plugin’s admin page if you don’t want to post it here.

Just a follow-up on this… I believe the issue is because the URLs are in square brackets. The code in the plugin that identifies URLs and turns them into links expects URLs to have whitespace (spaces or line breaks) on either side. I may be able to modify this functionality, but in general I think a lot of software would have trouble identifying URLs with non-whitespace characters directly adjacent to them.

That said, square brackets are a unique case because I know Markdown puts URLs in square brackets, for instance. So it seems like a reasonable change to make.

Thanks for the prompt response. Our apologies, we didn’t see this notification on our end. Here’s the shortcode we’re using:
    [ics_calendar url="https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/2b32e2db2d5f4655b76edcfa088a720e@kenjgewinteg.ca/3840f12984e14dcf9827d499bfc7e3a417392483007678633799/calendar.ics" title="false" eventdesc="true" format="F j, Y"]

We were seeing the same results on your official site as well (unless you’ve updated since a week ago).

Would this be a reasonable ask to have it fixed for your next update?

    Thanks again!

Thanks for sharing your shortcode so I can test. I’ll try to add support for this into the next update.

I’ve added some new logic to accommodate the way Office 365 auto-generates Microsoft Teams meeting info in these event descriptions. It should resolve the issues you were having, but if it does not, or if it’s introduced any new issues, let me know. This change is in version 7.7.1 which should be available momentarily.
