    Hi, I have a problem with a client’s website.

Sometime, when they are going to make the payment the following message appears to them, and also the payment of the amount is cancelled:

“The merchant is not adapted to the European payment security regulations.”.

I have investigated and I think it is the PSD2, a double check at the time of purchase.

I am using Woocommerce Payments and I don’t see any option to configure this.

Any idea why this message appears?

Then another thing that has happened to this same customer… the payment was declined because of the above message, but he got to the thank you page as if he had completed the order. Shouldn’t the payment not accepted message have appeared? Because of course… he thought he had already paid and this gave confusion.

  • Hi @cristianrico,

This can happen if there are some restricted products that are sold on the store, more of this is here.

If there are no restrictions on store items, it would be best to reach out to the payment gateway to ensure they are compatible with the products on the store and allow it, and that should shore up the error.

Let us know if you need further help!
