    Hello,

Since 01.10. stricter rules apply to the Coookie policy.
    EuGH: Cookie-basierte Anwendungen weitgehend einwilligungspflichtig
WooCommerce use a cookie name tk_ai as a non compliant cookie!
    tk_ai cookie and GDPR
In effect woocommerce are illegally placing cookies on users (not admin only) for their own metrics.
The Checkbutton on settings woocommerce.com has no effect…if disabled.

Gathering usage data enables us to make WooCommerce better - your store will be considered when we evaluate new features, assess the quality of an update, or see if it makes sense to improve.

Now we need a solution for this. If I disable the tracking, it must also remain disabled! Otherwise, woocommerce is illegal under EU law.

    Hi there,

Thanks for highlighting this – it’s genuinely appreciated 🙂

Working through the developer logs here, I see that it has already been reported over at https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/24792 and that preliminary coding changes are underway (See here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/pull/24798).

I’m closing this thread for now as our developers are already working on the issue here 🙂

    Hello,

there should be a solution since 20.05.2018.

The checkbutton was also inserted in woocommerce. But if it leaves the users in the belief that it is not tracked, it is a very unlikely data breach.
For such a thing there is usually a high warning penalty.
There are certainly a lot of woocommerce and these are now all at risk of a DSGVO penalty.

I think you should really start there fast and eliminate the glitch because it not only draws you trouble, but maybe much more.

    Thanks
    Tilo
