EU Cookie Law Plugin not displaying in French

Hi, I am using Latest WP and Latest EU Cookie Law plugin. I have latest paid for WPML and my site in in French and English with default in French. There were 6 strings that needed translating to make complete. When I view the site, it displays the cookie banner in English on both the French and English pages. I have tried all the tricks and tips in the WPML and EU Cookie Law forum but nothing works. It is a real shame as I will have to uninstall it this does not display in French.
The site is on our internal production server so I cannot give access from outside in case anyone asks. The external site is down for maintenance after being hacked and will be brought back on line as soon as this new EU Cookie Law Plugin problem is resolved.
Anyone got any ideas? My fingers are sore from searching for an answer for the last 4 hours
