Support » Plugin: EU Cookie Law for GDPR/CCPA » EU Cookie Law does not work well.

  • Hello Marco,

    first of all thanks for the constant support to the plugin, I’m here again for the same problem that I reported to you a few days ago.

    The EU Cookie Law plugin downloaded at least 100,000 times, is driving me crazy and I do not know if I can continue to use it. I’ve used it on about twenty websites and the results after accepting the banner are unpredictable. That is to say that sometimes it works perfectly other times it does not respond as it should.
    Probably depends on the methods used by me.

    For example, I show you one of my client’s website so you can check:

    In the menu the last item is GDPR which is divided into four sub-menus:

    – Privacy Act;
    – Rights of the interested parties;
    – Cookie Policy;
    – Revocation of Consent Cookie.

    The section in particular allows to revoke, thanks to the shortcode, cookies.

    Here’s what I noticed: if on the HOME PAGE I accept cookies, with the appropriate button, the banner correctly disappears. At this point I select the revocation page of this choice and I click on the Revoke button and the banner is correctly highlighted again. At this point I would expect that on the HOME PAGE restore the banner, but it is not. To be able to view it again I have to do CTRL + F5.

    You will understand that this is not feasible for users and if you could, could you suggest a solution?

    Alternatively I would be forced to change all the websites of customers who now use EU Cookie Law.

    Also I wanted to point out that the shortcode [cookie-control] does not work well. because most of the time the text in the button is not readable.

    Sorry for the length and good day.

    Thank you.

  • I confirm, same problem on all my sites.
    I don’t have too much theme (i use similar base framework for a lot of sites) but this problem is on every site: DIVI (20 sites), BEBO BOOKSTORE, THELEAGUE, ET EXTRA… all same problem.

    The problem is also with wp super cache, tried workarounds, but the problem is the same noticed by other users: the ACCEPT button remains and the only solution is disable the cache.

    Thank you
