eShop Fatal Error

  • I wanted to try out eshop, but I get a fatal error when I try to “activate”.
I tested out woocommerce at first but then I ran into a post stating that it uses its own user management separate from WordPress. So I thought I might just go with eShop instead. However, this is what I get:

    ( ! ) Fatal error: Cannot re-assign auto-global variable _POST in C:\wamp\www\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\eshop\cart-functions.php on line 767
    Call Stack
    # Time Memory Function Location
    1 0.0027 421320 {main}( ) ..\plugins.php:0
    2 0.6776 22326176 plugin_sandbox_scrape( ) ..\plugins.php:144
    3 0.6784 22365072 include( ‘C:\wamp\www\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\eshop\eshop.php’ ) ..\plugins.php:142

On another note, has anyone checked out “WP Marketplace”??? Looks interesting but doesn’t seem to be very well developed yet since it’s new.

    Thanks in advanced! (.=

Can you replicate the problem using the Twenty Eleven theme with all other plugins deactivated?

I just deactivated all plugins and activated the twenty eleven theme. still get the error:

    ( ! ) Fatal error: Cannot re-assign auto-global variable _POST in C:\wamp\www\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\eshop\cart-functions.php on line 767

Try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

By that I am assuming I have to go into my wp-content/plugins folder right? How to I “reset” it from there? delete the plugin folders?

    Site url?

I’m doing everything locally, I haven’t transfered anything over to the live server yet.

Then I’m sorry but we cannot replicate your problem. all we can say is that this is specific to your site and/install.

I faced the same problem. You have to give enough permissions to cart-functions.php.
With Filezilla or other FTP app rightclick the file > File Permissions and set to 666.
    Than it works.

    cheers

Actually no- seemed like but didn’t fix. Seems a PHP version issue. When and where can we upgrade a updated version?

Ask your hosts about upgrading PHP.
