I have encountered an error with one of my sites involving the wordpress core.
When i install any version higher than 3.6.0 i encounter the glitches shown in this video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-POqP…ature=youtu.be

I have never seen anything like this in the 2-ish years i have been using wordpress.
This particular site is a bit of a unique case, though, for other reasons.

The client this site is for has their own webserver. it is a windows server running IIS 11.
The site is self-hosted on this server (they do not use a web host like godaddy or hostgator), This was something they had established long before they hired me.
They also are a small enough company that they do not have an IT department to deal with server problems, updates, etc.

Has anyone encountered a problem like this?
any ideas on how to fix it (other than not updating the wordpress core)?

the site in question is currently located at http://americanindustrialinc.com/wp

  • Hi Tim,
Unfortunately the YouTube link is not working so I can’t actually see the problem that you are having there.
The usual first thing to try is to deactivate all your plugins and see if the problem goes away. If it does then reactivate each plugin in turn (I usually start with the most critical ones first) and test the site after each reactivation until the problem reappears – then you know which plugin is causing the problem.
You don’t say which theme you are using, it might help to know that, and also whether it is a customized child theme. You might try swapping the theme for the default theme and see if that changes anything.
Hope this helps get you a bit further along. Let me know if you need any further assistance.

    also i misspoke.
there was one plugin i forgot to test, which seems like it may be the issue.
Wordpress Vimeo Youtube Popup Plugin from codecanyon.
I have contacted the plugin author, but would still like to know if anyone has encountered a similar issue for other reasons

It is certainly a bit of a “weird one” that. Off the top of my head I would say it is possibly the errant plugin interfering with a loop counter variable in the admin template, the plugin author would be best placed to sort that out – I would be interested to hear what the solution is when you find out!
