We’ve had WordPress running for about a month. It started as a problem uploading media files in WordPress’ admin section with the media uploader, and receiving “error unable to receive attachment” messages, then a quote widget disappeared. I’d changed the permissions via FTP (Filezilla) of wp-content based on “solutions” from other support forums, to 777 (then changed it back) and it started working again. After a short time, it reverted back having the same issues, and then we couldn’t install new plugins after this as well. Went and changed the permissions again, and our website went blank (all, including admin). Based on another “solution” I’d found I placed a line of code in the wp-config file and tried to upload that, but it won’t write, says 0kb, and now I can’t write anything to the instance. What should I do? Everything is white (blank) in safari and firefox, and says server error (500) in chrome.
