# ERRORS Trying to Create Custom Template

 * I’m trying to set up a simple custom template. So far I have a simple index.php,
   footer.php and header.php. But for some reason I get this error message when 
   I try to view the simple index.php:
 * Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in /home/pahdcc/pahdcc.com/
   wp-content/themes/PAHDCC/index.php on line 1

 * Thanks for your advice Steve. I created a template through Underscore, uploaded
   the index.php, footer.php, header.php, style.css and still get the same error.

 * I’m wondering if this is a server-side issue I need to resolve with the hosting
   company, Dreamhost. It’s frustrating because they are a WordPress supported hosting
   company. They have a WP install function built into their platform.
