I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I have a mystery!

I’m using PMPro on a site and an email was sent to a user that their membership ended.

The site owner got a reply from SendGrid with the subject: Invalid SMTPAPI Header.

The body of the message said, “A message was received from this address by our systems that had errors in the SMTPAPI header, and cannot be processed due to the following:

     – 2 duplicate to header detected, rfc5322 states that there should be a max of 1.”

The only thing I can think of is that the email sent by PMPro has some kind of duplicate header.

    Any thoughts? Thank you!

Hi there, thank you for reaching out to Paid Memberships Pro.

Please advise which email was sent when this occurred and if you would be able to send any of the header/meta information so that we can take a further look into this for you?

It was the membership ended email: https://snap.renemzw.com/qnNxBL1c

I’m working on getting the header information from the client. Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback. If you can send that header information over that would be great.

Do you have any custom code running on your site that hooks into the emails or BCC’s in other addresses?

This quick forget allows the downloading of the original message one time. Hopefully that’s what you need.

    I don’t think there’s any custom code.

    Thank you!

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to pick up any duplicate headers from those eml files – please try reaching out to SendGrid and see if they can provide more feedback on the error they reported?

I emailed the client and asked them to reply to the original email to ask for more information. Thank you!
