 * I’m having the same issue using Canvas theme. I was really hoping to have this
   work. Would have helped me out a lot with a very specific navigation issue. Looks
   like I have to do it the hard way.

 * I had the same problem on other sites of my multisite install. On those other
   sites, I had to set at least one menu item as “widgetized” for this error to 
   go away. Not the ideal solution but I needed at least one widgetized menu item
   on all of my sites.
