  • Hi,

I checked my WordPress error_log today and seen multiple entries that look like failed attempts at making comments. Have I been hacked and how can I stop this?

    example log entry:

[22-Feb-2012 17:48:13] WordPress database error Illegal mix of collations (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation ‘=’ for query SELECT comment_ID FROM wp_comments WHERE comment_post_ID = ‘345’ AND comment_approved != ‘trash’ AND ( comment_author = ‘bank Unlock HDFC Bank Account .’ OR comment_author_email = ‘’ ) AND comment_content = ‘So many of the experiences I‚Ä ve had as a musician were so bizarre or oddly hilarious ‚ÄúSht, I don‚Ä t know where the sound guy is.’ LIMIT 1 made by wp_new_comment, wp_allow_comment

I turned off WP comments a week or so ago and now use only FBCOMMENTS. These entries have occurred both before and after wp comments have been disabled. Im digging around right now because I think some of my older post still have a wp comments box. I have removed this box from most pages already.

Please help, I dig my blog so much and would hate to see it go down.
